Out Of Sight... More Sounds From The In Crowd

"From the original style movement 1958-68" is an attempt to provide the soundtrack to the English mod culture of the 60's. That explains the tracklist of this odd compilation. An excellent collection of popular hits, the 'thematic' approach makes it more interesting than just any 'greatest hits'.
This 2CD set is also labelled with "#5" and "#6" as it's a follow up on a 4CD set released in 2001, hence the word "more" in its title.
I had a big 'WTF?!?!' moment when ripping this set: CD2 track 1 couldn't be ripped... All the other tracks gave no problem but this one. Thanks to someone on the DM forum the tracks are complete.
It comes with a 47 page booklet with lots of pictures and info on the songs and artists.

Rhythm 'n' Blues - Shouters

Same kind of set as the 'Boogie Woogie Goodies' but this focuses on the shouters, the lead singers of RnB ensembles, and is closer to early Rock 'n' Roll. "Shouters": some even sang unamplified in front of their bands!
It's an overdose, another 100 tracks of RnB, but the two sets together do give a good introduction to the RnB era. My approach is to simply line 'm all up in a playlist and play the list, browsing occasionaly in the linernotes to read up on individual artists. Each CD is about an hour worth of music, so it can be handled but there's more where this came from.
German label Membran (site also in English) specializes in these kind of re-issues in various genres, including jazz and classical but much more. These sets sold for little less than 20 euro which I find very decent for 4 CDs and good artwork/info.

Smokey Robinson And The Miracles - You Must Be Love

"The Love Collection", a compilation of their sweetest hits from the early '60's to the early '70's. The CD is brand new, dirt cheap and easy made: almost no linernotes or pictures. The music is beautiful of course.

Rhythm 'n' Blues - Boogie Woogie Goodies

Massive set of classic RnB tunes, part of a series (more to follow). 4 CDs, each with 25 tracks. Rips are around 90MB per CD. The boxes are in a book style with abundant liner notes inside, containing pictures and biographies of featured artists in German and English.
The cover mentions "Rhythm 'N' Blues Magazine 1945 - 1954" but I can't find anything relating to an existing magazine like Blues & Rhythm Magazine.

I've been busy with other things, haven't bought many CDs. And when I looked into ripping stuff, I ran into some inconveniences like tracks which couldn't be ripped, missing database info (not a problem unless it's for a 4CD set), faulty info, no pics aavailable, etc.
I'll get a few titles up on the next couple of days.
Edit: I'll also look into comments about missing tracks and faulty passwords, etc. Check the posts in a few days.
